have i never tried something new? is that why i haven’t failed at the things i like to do?

well, let’s list the past failures in the things you like to do:

playing the flute: IT WAS FUCKING HARD AS A FIFTH/SIXTH GRADER. those are the years that it’s easier to quit. but flute lessons kept pushing me past the “giving up” period. now, i could never unlearn the flute.

watercolors: as fun as it was, i utterly failed at this little painting for someone. i painted, then edited it on photoshop. let’s just say it was just a bunch of crap.

singing: i still feel like a failure of a singer compared to my peers. but, i’ve finally overcome the fact that my voice is just different. there are weaknesses, but i could work on making my strengths look fantastic.

musicals: ok, i haven’t fell flat on my face„„ yet. but i did dance in the wrong direction (Seussical), i did went on stage with the wrong costume (Annie), i did drop my mic on stage (Spelling Bee),but those mistakes weren’t a biggie. i won’t consider them failures, just more ways to show how “aplomb” i am xD

acting: wow, those acting classes. i’ve never felt so dumb in my life. the classes are getting harder, but i’m thinking more. and it’s great how acting a story is relevant to living a life. it’s all so… human-like.

you see, there are mini failures, nothing overwhelming. the rest of my life is filled with failures though,which pushes me towards working on things i know how to do best. i won’t know everything. i could be interested in everything (you don’t know how many times i enjoy watching those scishow videos on science stuff), but i can master at a handful of things. and i like my handful right now.

German photographer Dieter Leistner has published a photo book called Korea – Korea that explores the contrast of public spaces in North and South Korea.

In 2006, Leistner was given official permission to photograph public spaces in Pyongyang, North Korea.
Leistner then traveled to Seoul in 2012, where he found similar locations with a very different feel.
This “visual concordance” speaks for itself and needs no commentary.
